A few weeks ago, I had one of those rare nights out with other mums at a pub. We made a pact—not to talk about our kids for once—and instead asked each other deep, thought-provoking questions. But while everyone else got meaningful questions about their values, careers, and relationships, I got just one question:"What’s your skincare routine?"

I get it. People notice that I look younger than my age (I’m 46), and they assume I have some kind of secret. But here’s the truth:I barely have a skincare routine at all!

Why I Don’t Rely on Skincare

I hardly have time towash my face, and I don’t use fancy creams or follow elaborate beauty rituals. Yet, people still ask me about my skin. Why? Because mydiet and lifestyle play a far bigger role in my health—and that includes how my skin looks.

The real secret?Keto and intermittent fasting.

The Science Behind Diet and Skin Health

We all know the saying:You are what you eat. And it’s true. The food we put into our bodies has a direct impact on how we feel, function, and even how we age.

For me, the goal has never been to look younger—it’s been tofeel better, have more energy, and stay healthy. Looking good is just a bonus.

How Keto and Fasting Help My Skin:

  • Reduced Inflammation: Chronic inflammation is a major cause of aging, and keto helps keep it in check.

  • Balanced Blood Sugar: Stabilized insulin levels prevent glycation, which can lead to premature wrinkles.
